The capital of the Maldives, Male, is one of the smallest capitals in the world. It is an interesting place to explore for those who want to get up close with the local culture. There are cafés, museums, fruit and vegetable markets, and mosques. There are guided tours that will take you to the must-see places or you can wander around and explore wherever y0u want to go. Do keep in mind that the Maldives is a Muslim country that follow strict Islamic practices. So, make sure you dress appropriately with your legs and shoulders covered for women, and a headscarf if entering a mosque. Men are not allowed to wear t-shirts or shorts and must wear a shirt and trousers.

9. Sunrise or Sunset Yoga

The yoga industry has been growing in the Maldives with visitors going to the Maldives for a yoga retreat. Visitors can opt for a full-on multi-day yoga retreat or attend in-house yoga classes in the morning or at sunset.
